Everlaw Celebrates Data Privacy Week 2022

We are excited to announce Everlaw’s commitment to Data Privacy Week 2022 by registering as a Data Privacy Week Champion!

In 2022, Data Privacy Week has expanded from its roots as Data Privacy Day takes place annually in January. The campaign helps raise awareness about the importance of privacy, highlights easy ways to protect personal information, and reminds organizations that respecting privacy is good for business. The National Cyber Security Alliance encourages all businesses, regardless of their size or industry, to respect data and learn about their responsibility for keeping individuals’ personal information safe from unauthorized access and ensuring fair, relevant, and legitimate data collection and processing.

Taking part in Data Privacy Week is significant for Everlaw because we recognize the importance of personal data protection and the necessity of having a robust privacy program and information security management system in place. Everlaw goes through several annual audits associated with certifications and authorizations like SOC2, ISO 27001, CE+, and FedRAMP-moderate, during which our program and underlying processes and controls are tested. Our program includes industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the security, availability, privacy, and confidentiality of information. Everlaw has designed its program to protect against any reasonably anticipated threats or hazards to the security of such information. At Everlaw, we are committed to providing a highly secure product and protecting our customers’ data.

Data Privacy Week is a great opportunity for every organization to rethink its approach to data privacy and start the new year with a fresh focus on enhancing its data privacy awareness program. According to a Pew Research Center study, 79% of U.S. adults report being concerned about the way companies are using their data. As technology evolves and the COVID-19 pandemic continues to influence how consumers interact with businesses online, data collection practices are becoming increasingly unavoidable, making it imperative that companies be open and honest about how we collect, use, and share consumers’ personal information and that we communicate our policies clearly and concisely.

You can read more about how Everlaw collects, uses, stores, and discloses information in our Privacy Notice at everlaw.com/privacy. For more information about Data Privacy Day 2022 and how to get involved, please visit https://staysafeonline.org/data-privacy-week/.
