If you’re going to LegalTech New York, chances are you’re looking to achieve a goal – whether that’s getting ethics CLE credits, expanding your professional network, or transitioning to a different career. With sessions, meetings, after-hours events, and the exhibit hall on your to-do list, it may start to look overwhelming. But there are ways to make sure you get what you need professionally. So, if you’ve got one of these five goals, here are tips for meeting them:
- Complete your ethics CLE requirements
- Find others who do what you do
- Rock out
- Make a career change
- Upgrade your software
1. Complete your ethics CLE requirements
Plenty of sessions at LegalTech New York are CLE-eligible, but which ones offer ethics credit? To save you the time of searching through the schedule, here are the ethics credit-eligible sessions:
February 2nd | February 3rd | February 4th |
---|---|---|
10:30-11:45 AM Protecting the Company’s Crown Jewels in the Age of Information Security Threats | 11:45 AM-12:45 PM Cybersecurity for Legal Services or Ethics Considerations in Cloud-Based E-Discovery or Judges Panel: Information Governance in the Age of Proportionality | 12:15-1:30 PM Information Governance and the Updated FRCP: Speed, Proportionality, Preservation and Ethical Challenges |
2:00-3:15 PM Using Analytics in E-Discovery | ||
3:15-5:00 PM Don’t Let Your Information Undermine Cybersecurity |
2. Find others who do what you do
With so many attendees at LegalTech, it can be hard to zero in on networking opportunities with those who work in similar roles or departments. One way to locate these people is to download the conference app from the App Store and access the “Attendees” list. While nowhere near a comprehensive list, it’s a good place to start – especially since it allows you to search not only by name, but also by title. Give it a shot and see who you can find! (Warning: you may have to wait until the first day for all of the app information to be populated.)
3. Rock out
At the end of a long conference day, you’re going to want to let loose. Luckily for you, there’s not just one, but two, after-hours benefit rock concerts at LegalTech. Head to the Hilton’s West Grand Ballroom for “Rock More, Review Less” on February 2nd, and “Rock the Law” on February 3rd – both at 8:30 PM.
4. Make a career change
